Dream Of The Damned - продукт ума музыканта-мультиинструменталиста Icnocuicatl'a, созданный в январе 2011 вслед за его предыдущим проектом, который был завершен к тому времени. "Alone..." это первое по счету демо, которое вышло в свет 22 апреля 2011 года и оно включает в себя две песни: The Devil's Game" и "The Dream of The Damned".

17.08.2011 был выпущен его первый сингл под названием "The Loneliness", более ориентированный в сторону эмбиентного Depressive Black Metal.

16.01.2012 выявляется новый материал из трех треков и кавер-версии одной из песен группы Happy Days, а 15 марта того же года вышел сингл под названием "The Mask". Затем, в ноябре 2012 года увидела свет новая работа под названием "Artificial Paradises". Icnocuicatl записывает всю инструментальную часть и вокал самостоятельно.

27 мая 2013 в качестве трибьюта культовой группе Agalloch был записан кавер на песню "The Limbs".

апреля 2014 года репертуар проекта пополнился песней "A Taste of Insanity" , которая является частью сплита с иностранными группами и вскоре выходит их совместный новый альбом "Endless Nightmares of a Vicious Circle".

В том же  году Dream Of The Damned заключает контракты с несколькими звукозаписывающими компаниями : Depressive Illusion Records (Украина), Cvlminis (Россия), Mindless Productions (Индонезия), 

Panzer Records (Бразилия) и WINTERWOLF Records (Германия). В 2015 были представлены для продажи две новые записи - "A Taste of Insanity. Part 3" и "No Matter". Сплит  "Endless Nightmares of a Vicious Circle" вышли при содействии  WINTERWOLF Records и Depressive Illusion Records. 28 марта 2015 года был выпущен новый материал под названием "A Taste of Insanity"  и опубликованный в Depressive Illusion Records на компакт-диске в SlimCase-формате, а так же в цифровом варианте для скачивания. 11 апреля этот альбом был опубликован в WINTERWOLF рекордов (Германия) в формате CD Jewel Case и 2 мая  - в AMENTI Records (Мексика) на CD SlimCase.

В настоящее время Dream Of The Damned сочиняет и записывает свой новый альбом.

Dream Of The Damned is a project of the mind of a One Man Band called Icnocuicatl created in January 2011 after finishing his previous project. "Alone..." is the first demo was released in 22.04.2011 and contains two songs: the first song calls "The Devil's Game" and the second is titled "The Dream of The Damned".

The 17.08.2011 was released his first single was titled "The Loneliness", this material is more focused on the Ambient Depressive Black Metal. 

16.01.2012  comes to light the new material with three tracks and a cover on song of Happy Days and on March, 15 was released the single called "The Mask". Then on November. 10, 2012 came out the new material entitled "Artificial Paradises". Icnocuicatl records all the instruments and the voices of his songs.

For now I welcome you to this space and hope you enjoy my music. The May 27, 2013 released the tribute to the cult band Agalloch with the song is called  "The Limbs".

On April 8, 2014 he had released his new song entitled "A Taste of Insanity" that is a part of a split with foreign bands and their new album coming out soon.

In the same year (2014) Dream of The Damned had published in several record labels: Depressive Illusion Records (Ukraine), Cvlminis (Russia), Mindless Productions (Indonesia), Panzer Records (Brazil) and WINTERWOLF Records (Germany). 2015 was released for the sale two new songs "A Taste of Insanity. Part 3" and "No Matter". The Split called "Endless Nightmares of a Vicious Circle" produced by Icnocuicatl  was under the seal of the WINTERWOLF  Records and Depressive Illusions  Records. In the 2015 March, 28 was released his new material called "A Taste of Insanity" and published in the Depressive Illusions Records (Ukraine) on CD in slimcase, digital download and tape. In the April 11  this album was published in WINTERWOLF Records (Germany) in CD Jewel case format and on the May 2 of this year was published in Amenti Records (Mexico) on CD in slimcase. Currently Dream of The Damned is composing and recording his new album.

Lynn Stokes & Sol Surfers 'Off To Sea Once More'

Sea ... its lead-gray smooth surface stretchs to the horizon and its tranquility as if favors for the brave sailors and sassy pirates, ​​who have dared to go to the boundless expanses of sea. The command  "Raise the sails!" already has been given and ships embarked on their perilous and exciting journey, and only God knows what will happen in the way with men, who have challenged for impermanence nature, which is the most impulse strength to destroy even the most reliable works of the human mind ...

Nautical theme always was an interesting material for artists working in various genres, and these beautiful and spirited motifs often experiencing a renaissance in modern songs always can touch the soul and to call the living spark of inspiration, faithfully serving for its Majesty's the Art. And so the music world replenished with an unusual and really special finding, taking the place in the album "Off To Sea Once More" through efforts of American artists Sol Surfers under the direction of maestro Lynn Stokes. It should be clear that this talented artist not only gathered amazing collective, but also inspirited a new life into old songs, texts of which have survived to the present day, so that the locution "Еverything new things these are all good old things" sounds here very by the way. According words of Lynn Stokes, still in 2001 he had found the texts of choral songs of sailors, thus laying the foundation for a future album. Old lyrics gradually "overgrown" with appropriate melodies and sounds that turned into beautiful verses of the legendary folk ballad about cutie Peggy-O, brave sailor-girl Jackaro, developing on the wind Jolly Roger, and so on, the songs in due time playing by the Grateful Dead, Roger Mcguinn, Mountain.




As all these musicians, Lynn Stokes saw by the own way own and expressed in a new interpretation the material that formed the basis of the "Off To Sea Once More". Was very realistic and volumetric picture with not only a characteristic sound, but also with a living design in the form of sounds of sea's waves, the shouts of seagulls, instruments playing so that together with the cello and mandolin that make to life imagination and which sends us back to the distant days when were born known legends and beliefs of brave explorers of marine spaces. The album is a collection of sailors' songs that were appearing in different times and have their own history.

The album is opening with the old song "Off To Sea Once More", which  appeared approximately in the 18th century and since had become as traditional song in the culture of English sailors. It tells the story about the a sailor who went   to the coast in the Liverpool's port, and after drunken spree and night with a prostitute he lost all his new clothes and the money earned by hard work. And although he vowed never more to go to sea, the situation forced him to work on the whaling vessel in the harsh conditions of the Arctic Ocean. This kind of the cautionary song calls that sailors must do not fall under the influence of alcohol that to avoid same not joyous situation.

The next song "Peggy-O" is already a traditional Irish ballad about the love feeling between a soldier and a girl who then was nicknamed "Cute Peggy-O." As many folk songs this song does not have any specific version and the authorship  is not very easy to find out, so it is known by different names, such as "Fennario", "The Maid of Fife", "There once was a troop o' Irish dragoons".  

"Paddy West" also is rich with many variations, although numerous lyrics of this song not much different among themselves. One of the versions of this song was found in the collection of  Stanley Hugill "Shanties from the Seven Seas" including more than 400 shanti. To find out more extensive information about Paddy Vesta it was a difficult task. Results of the search leads again to Liverpool, where once (in about 1870) there was a boarding house, which contained by Paddy West and he taught their guests to seamanship. Hugill wrote that the song was as entertaining when the weather was good sailors gathered on the nose of ship and worked singing shanti and lifting anchor ropes or etching.

"Jack-A-Roe" performed at different times by Joan Baez, Bob Dylan and the legendary band The Grateful Dead also found its place in the beautiful sea collection "Off To Sea Once More". This song is found under different names, such as "Jack Munro," "Jackie Monroe," "Jackaroe," "Jackaro," "Jackie Frazier," "Jack the Sailor," "Jack Went A-Sailing", "The Love of Polly and Jack Monroe "and like most folk ballads has indeterminate age and origin, although this song goes with roots into the culture of British naval sailors. Several versions of this song collected in "The English folk song" of Cecil Sharpe from the southern Appalachians and subsequent collections of folk songs. In those days it is not uncommon that women were subjugated by fearlessness and courage of sailors and they fell in love with them and dressed up as a man that to be closer to their lover. This song describes the romantic story   about the brave girl who was the daughter of a rich merchant and she had run away to her beloved sailor Jack.

"Banks Of Newfoundland" is the name of at least six different songs. They differ among themselves not only with  melody, but with the lyrics and the atmosphere in whole, although all songs have the common theme of  dangers of seagoing and fishing near the coast of Newfoundland. This song presented on this album is not so popular as others songs, and it appeared in the Ballycastle - the most northern tip of Ireland.

In the world, but more precisely in the Atlantic Ocean there is such a legendary place which in olden times had the honorary title of the capital of whaling. This is an island the Nantucket. In the sea near the Nantucket were rich whaling areas and there were many ships. Exactly there that was born the term "Nantucket Sleighride", associated with the hunting of whales and become the next title of this old song. The text  tells about the young man who left his girlfriend to go on 3 year in whaling voyage.

Next song in this seaside collection was the song "Pretty Polly", sung in the British Isles, the Canada, Appalachian region of North America and so on. This song was written in the subgenre of traditional music, the so-called Murder Ballad ( "ballads about murders"). Songs with eerie plot described different stories about the murders and crimes because of mad passion. And "Pretty Polly" is in the spirit  of that time and tells a sad story where was the villain - a carpenter of ship who promised to marry with girl Polly, but he killed her when she became pregnant. Then in sea he was haunted by the ghost of this murdered woman and he finally confessed in his crime and then goes mad and dies.

"Greenland Whale" is also a very old and multi-version song. Earliest variation included in the collection of old ballads, which dates since 1725. Here we can hear the story about the major expedition gone to Greenland. Already had been floated boats and harpoons were ready, but kick of the whale's tail tilted boasts with them and  several people were killed. Captain mourned the loss of prey, making a pretense as if he actually mourns about dead sailors. Then he returned the ship backward, calling that Greenland is "terrible place".

"While Cruisin 'Around Yarmouth" - the ballad the rough as well as canvas probably started life among sailors floating to the East in frigates the East Indiamen  and the Blackwall. Later, there was another version of it - "Blow the Man Down".

Tracklist moves to completion and "Jolly Roger" closes this epic collection. I think there is no need to explain who is the "Jolly Roger", as can be seen, the author thought that it is necessary to include to the album something about pirates that the picture about marine life was very full. It's kind of a pirate hymn battle, stern, to match all the ministers of guns and grappling hook. Like all the songs also pleasant to hear  beautiful melodies in a spirit of real Santhi.

In the end this album is concluded not only the rich cultural history of the time of sailing ships, but also embodies the vision of the author of the music of the archaic texts through the prism of his creativity and imagination.

INDECADENCE 'Ep's'

Музыкальный мир сегодня настолько богат и разнообразен, что ориентироваться в нем становится поистине непростой задачей. Например, не всегда получается отследить появление каких-то новых лиц во всех многочисленных направлениях этого необозримого пространства. Так, молодым и никому неизвестным (кроме как в "своих кругах") дарованиям приходится нелегко в борьбе за успех на своем поприще. Но информационная эпоха никого не ограничивает в творчестве и средствах самовыражения, поэтому всё выливается в известный принцип "кто во что
горазд".

Незатейливое название в минимальстичной оболочке толкает на мысли о том, что Indecadence как-то не особенно серьезно относятся к своему имиджу на тяжелом небосводе. Название одного из их альбомов "Ep's" и вовсе озадачило меня, что собственно может скрываться под столь лаконичным заглавием? Однако, слова, аккуратно выложенные на обложке в строгой и утонченной манере, пробуждают определенную степень надежды на то, что этот труд может удовлетворить мои трепетные ожидания услышать от музыкантов InDecadance что-то очень существенное, если не выдающееся.

К сожалению то минимум, который удалось нагуглить, ограничился крайне скудными сведениями о данном коллективе, а именно то, что он родом из Испании и творит уже 12 лет в жанре дум/дэт метал, к которому, замечу, моя душа особенно восприимчива. В связи с этой примечанием у меня, как у слушателя, сформировалось свое субъективное видение этого жанра на основе моих личных предпочтений и моего личного опыта.


Надо сказать, содержание не далеко ушло от оболочки - всё слишком предсказуемо, никаких неожиданных поворотов, даже косяков я не могу припомнить - словом, ничего особенного не случилось, хотя начало немного удивило меня своим хаотичным вступлением, которое звучит здесь очень странно, если принять во внимание дальнейшее развитие структуры альбома. Отголоски суетного мира вплетаются в постепенно раскрывающиеся певучими синтезаторными аккордами интро “Lost”. А потом понеслась стремглав волна мощного гитарного саунда в купе с обильными и неутихающими партиями все того же готического синтезатора, который лишь чуть уступает партиям ритм- и соло-гитар. Но в целом такая тяжелая основа создает очень хороший фон, который  эмоциональность, атмосферность альбома даже некоторую склонность к агрессивному выражению всех чувств, вложенных музыкантами в смысл в данное творение. Словом, вот она какая - испанская грусть! Сама по себе музыка бьет в уши приятным потоком мелодично-душевных созвучий, и это пышное обилие звуков здорово отвлекает от уже нездорового употребления клавишных пассажей на все лады и мотивы.

Масса готических элементов действует не самым выгодным образом для дэт/дума - пропадает тяжесть, заложенная в основу этого жанра. Здесь нужно чувствовать меру, чтобы создать страдальческую атмосферу и в тоже время сохранить экстремальную фактуру, характерную для дэт/дума. В данном случае мы можем слышать, скорее что-то отдаленно напоминающие готик метал с сильно выраженной клавишной основой, причем особенно ощущается их явное доминирование в общей звуковой каше. Но не без плюсов. На этом альбоме InDecadance с гордостью демонстрируют превосходную мелодическую линию, в которой набирают силу прогрессивно-дэтовые гитары и смачный рык вокалиста, недурно сочетающийся с этим полнозвучием, и всё-таки думовая эпичность здесь присутствует в определенной мере. Особого впечатления этот релиз не произвел на меня, это из той категории работ, которые иногда хочется слушать при каком-то определенном настроении или случае. На любителя, так сказать.))

The music world now is so rich and varied and it is very difficult problem to orient in this subject.For example, not always we able to track the emergence of some new faces in all ways of this  boundless space. So, young and unknown for many (except of their "the circles") talents have to seriosly to fight for success in his career. But the information era nobody limits in creativity and any means of expression, so all results in a well-known principle - " each in his own way ".

Unpretentious title in minimalistical cover makes me to think that InDecadence not very meticulously care about their image in the heavy scene. The name of one of them Album "Ep's" puzzled and so appeared the question: what actually may be hidden under such laconic title? But the words, that are laid out neatly on the cover in a strict and subtle manner gave me a degree of hope that this work can meet my quivering expectations to hear from musicians of the InDecadence something very significant, I even don't talk about smth grandiose. 

Unfortunately the minimum that i could to find in the global web are limmiting with extremely scarce information. So i alredy exactly can say that this team was born in Spain and works for 12 years in genre melodic doom / death metal - i can't say about this music with indifference and without soul, because , I note, my the soul particularly susceptible for this subject. Because of this fact I am as a listener had formed my own subjective vision of this subject on the basis of my personal preferences, and my own personal experience. 


I must say the content is not far from the cover - everything are so predictably, no one twist or turn, I do not even no one flaw...I can not remember nothing special, although the intro a little had surprised me with chaotic lead-in that sounds very strange here, if we take into attention the further development of the structure of the album. Echoes of the earthly world gradually enact with melodious synth chords of "The Lost". And then headlong rushes the powerful wave of guitar's sound, coupled with abundant and raging parties with the same "gothic" synthesizer, which is only slightly knuckle under parties of the rhythm- and solo guitars. But overall this creates a very heavy base for good background that highlights the emotions, atmosphere of the album despite the tendency to express feelings in a bit aggressive way, that were embedded by musicians into the sense of this creature. Here it is - "The Spanish sadness"! By itself, the music strikes in ears with the pleasant stream of melodic-soulful harmonies and this luxuriant of sounds well distracts from the unhealthy applying of keyboard's passages in all ways and motives.

A lot of gothic elements affects with not very fruitfully for genre death / doom because disappears severity, laid to the idea of this music. Here it is necessary the feeling of measure to create a anguished atmosphere and at the same time to save extremal texture charactering for the death / doom. In this case we can hear something remotely reminiscent the gothic metal with strongly prepotency of the keyboard's basis, and particularly it is feeling their clear dominance in this of sound's mess. But it is not without advantages. On this album InDecadence with the proud can show the excellent melodic line, where progressive death metal guitars gain momentum and emphatic growl of vocalist that not badly are combining with this polyphony and epic of doom metal are present here in some extent. This release didn't give me any special impressions: this is the category of works that sometimes you want to listen to when you have some particular mood or occasion. This is for the admirer, so to speak)
